Joe McCarthy is a highly accomplished and forward-thinking senior financial executive and top corporate officer, with extensive expertise in turnaround management, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, system implementations, financial planning and analysis, human resources management, information systems, operational controls, and financial reporting. In March 2017, Joe started his own consulting practice which serves a variety of clients most of which are private equity owned. Recent roles include interim and fractional CFO and advisory roles for a PE backed company preparing for exit, interim CFO for severely distressed PE owned company, advisory role for family business looking toward strategic event, and turnaround situation advisory role for another PE backed company. Previously, Joe was CFO with Sunrise Growers~Frozsun Foods, which was a privately-equity owned company in 2005 as part of a turnaround effort of the company. The restructuring and growth of the company is impressive, and Sunrise is one of the leading suppliers of frozen fruit in the world selling to top retailers and food service customers. The continued success resulted in sales of the company to different private equity firms in 2008 and 2013, and most recently the sale to a publicly-traded food company based in Toronto in late 2015.
