Shazi Visram is Founder and ChairMom of Happy Family Organics, a mom operated premium organic food company that has changed the way we feed our children. As the founder and leader of one of the largest and fastest growing baby and toddler food brand, Happy Family continues to create innovative, englightened and transparent products parents can feel good about purchasing. Visram has been lauded by President Obama as an outstanding businesswoman, a rock star of the new economy, and a leader who has played an instrumental role in improving children’s nutrition and happiness around the world, that we should all emulate. A daughter of Tanzanian and Pakistani immigrants, who risked their lives in order to create a better world for their children, Visram made it her mission to create a progressive business that could positively impact the health of children and always give back to those in need, all while supporting sustainability. She also founded the Happy Family Foundation and built the first Happy Family Children’s Village in Tanzania for orphaned and abandoned children. She continues to guide the company with principles that advocate for organic food for all children, sustainable farming practices, and innovative solutions that leave our planet healthier. Her accomplishments have earned her the respect and admiration of peers and colleagues, including receiving a 2016 Silver Stevie Award for Innovator of the Year from the Stevie Awards for Women in Business, recipient of Columbia Business School’s 2016 Distinguished Early Achievement Award, being named one of Crain’s New York Business 40 Under 40 in 2012, honored by Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the New York region in 2011, and nominated as one of Babble’s 2011 “Moms Who are Changing the World.”
