    WHAT ARE WINE RAYZYNS?

NAPA, CA.–The first and only superfood of its kind, Wine RayZyns from The Wine RayZyn Company are hand-harvested wine grapes. RayZyns are made with the skin and seeds intact to provide an unprecedented source of fiber, nutrients and antioxidants. The seeds are toasted and caramelized during the special drying process, giving each RayZyn an addictive and delicious crunch.

The power of RayZyn is in its seeds, containing the health benefits of wine without the alcohol. Harvested in California, RayZyns are packed with the same antioxidants that make wine good for you; in fact, they are especially good for your heart. These antioxidants are known as flavonoids, more specifically, epicaticans. RayZyns have 10 times more epicaticans than a glass of red wine, which is also more than traditional raisins, green tea, pomegranates and other “superfoods.”

Since regular raisins are genetically modified to be seedless, they have fewer antioxidants than RayZyns. The seed and skin of RayZyns provide 20% of your daily fiber, which is rare to find in gluten-free food. RayZyns are vegan, non-GMO, all natural, Kosher, have no artificial flavors, preservatives, and are naturally sweet with a healthy crunch.

Not only is this superfood a super snack, it’s also an amazing ingredient. RayZyns are an excellent topping for yogurt, oatmeal, and salads. Just sprinkle RayZyns right out of the bag to add flavor to any meal, and you have a superfood meal ready for consumption.

RayZyns are full of robust flavor. Wine RayZyn co-founder Andrew Cates says the CabernayZyns (from Cabernet Sauvignon wine grapes) “taste like a pocket of cabernet jam wrapped around a toasted pine nut.” On ChardonayZyns (from Chardonnay wine grapes), Cates calls them, “nature’s gummy bear” and “with taste notes of toasted caramel, apricot, crme Brule and green apple.” Other flavors from The RayZyn Wine Company include MerlayZyns (from Merlot wine grapes) and Dark Chocolate covered RayZyns (Nature’s guilt-free indulgence).

The Wine RayZyn Company was founded by world-renowned cardiologist, Chris Cates, M.D. and his son, Napa vintner Andrew Cates.

“As a cardiologist, I’ve prescribed wine to my patients for decades,” company founder Dr Chris Cates said, “One day at our family’s vineyard, my wife, son, and I were snacking on leftover wine grapes. It was then when I got the idea: what if you could eat your wine instead of drinking it?

Chris and Andrew spent two years working to come up with a special process for preserving the wine grape and all of its nutrients as well as making the wine grape seed palatable to humans. Its nutritional value is unlike any other.

RayZyns are sold online atwww.rayzyn.comand on Amazon as well as at major retailers including Bristol Farms, ACME, ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, Total Wine, Earth Fare and TOPS. Each flavor is available in .0625oz, 1.6oz, and 8oz packages and as a Wine RayZyn Trio Pack and Chocolate Covered CabernayZyns. The Wine RayZyn Company will also have Rescue RayZyn at the show. Due to recent wildfire disasters in Northern and Southern California, Wine RayZyn Company co-founder Andrew Cates lost his family’s vineyard and home, but that didn’t stop his family from turning “lemons into lemonade.” With many vineyards burned down in the Napa and Sonoma County area, The Wine RayZyn Company partnered with Food Recovery Network to repurpose premium unharvested wine grapes from vineyards affected and turn them into “Rescue RayZyns,” in order to raise money for relief efforts and help those who have recently been affected by natural disasters including those in Anaheim where Expo West will take place.

The Rescue RayZyn Project represents a key step toward helping to raise awareness around eliminating food waste, as well as highlighting the ability to repurpose the fallout of one disaster in order to provide direct benefit to others who have suffered from natural disasters. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Rescue RayZyns will be used to benefit natural disaster relief in California. This partnership also allows food distribution companies, retailers, wineries and vineyard owners and the public the opportunity to join forces and make a real and immediate impact to those victims who have recently been affected.

“Expo West is an opportunity to not only connect with consumers and retailers one-on-one, but also to draw awareness to the Rescue RayZyn Project, which we launched after the devastating wildfires in Northern California,” says The Wine RayZyn Company co-founder Andrew Cates. “We want to show other food companies how they too can step up after a disaster, and how they can join us in promoting food waste awareness globally.” Andrew Cates with his vineyard home, and property in ash rubble, will begin a nationwide “RayZyn Guy” tour after Expo West to promote the Rescue RayZyn ™ project and the RayZyn™ sustainable superfood snacks.

The Wine RayZyn Company will also bring all its classic Wine RayZyn™ favorites to the show. FROM WINE GRAPES TO RAYZYNS AND INTO YOUR HEART -THE WINE RAYZYN COMPANY BRINGS THE NAPA EXPERIENCE TO PEOPLE ACROSS THE COUNTRY FOR ITS NATIONAL “RAYZYN GUY” RV TOUR

NAPA, CA. Andrew Cates, Napa vinter of the Segassia Vineyard and co-founder of The Wine RayZyn Company, is celebrating the power of the wine grape seed and bringing it to people’s hearts by embarking on a road-trip across America, following the loss of his Napa home and family vineyard in California’s wildfires. Stopping at festivals, food shows, health events, retailers, corporate offices and college campuses, Cates will hit the road in his new RayZyn-Mobile, hosting tastings of Rescue RayZyns™ as part of an international movement that supports natural disaster relief.

During the Northern California wildfires last fall, Cates lost his home and sixty percent of his vineyard. Although the vines were damaged, Cabernet fruit was still hanging on mildly damaged vines. Determined to “turn lemons into lemonade,” Cates partnered with The Food Recovery Network to salvage wine grapes no longer suitable for wine making and turn them into Wine RayZyns, otherwise known as Rescue RayZyns™.

The RayZyn-Mobile will travel with a photo-worthy food truck style creation station for people to pair Wine RayZyns with their favorite foods, utilizing each flavor of RayZyn: CabernayZyns, MerlayZyns, ChardonayZyns and Dark Chocolate Covered RayZyns.

Cates will travel with a live webcam to document his travels for the world to see, post blog updates throughout his journey and share each exciting moment on The Wine RayZyn Co.’s social channels. The tour will also be supported by public relations efforts in each city the RayZyn-Mobile stops in.

“We’ve received incredible messages of support in the aftermath of the wildfires, and are now able to give back that support by spreading the power of RayZyns across the country,” says Cates. “We are excited to meet our supporters face to face and also make new introductions to people who are looking to enhance their daily meals.”
