ANAHEIM, Calif., March 8, 2018 – Sorbabes, Inc., the new generation of frozen dessert, will unveil its latest flavor innovation and indulgently refreshed recipes at ExpoWest 2018 (Booth N1231). Also new to ExpoWest attendees will be the brand’s enhanced product packaging with colorful, iridescent accents, cleverly updated flavor names, plus distinct ingredient and nutritional call outs.
Inspired by the modern options they were seeing in the ice cream aisle and feeling unsatisfied with the lack of innovation in traditional sorbets, co-founders Nicole Cardone and Deborah Gorman combined their business savvy and creative talents to create a dairy-free, plant-based dessert option that delivered an indulgent experience.
“We’re really disrupting expectations in the better-for-you category and bringing flavor and texture like never before,” Cardone says. “Our enhanced product line-up and new packaging is designed to give consumers a stronger sense of our playful brand and seriously wholesome ingredients.”
At ExpoWest, Sorbabes will unveil its latest product line, refreshed for 2018, featuring new, dynamic recipes even lower in sugar and calories than before:
- *NEW* Peanut Butta Luva – peanut butter sorbet, caramel, roasted peanuts, chocolatey chips
- *ENHANCED* Raz n’Berry – raspberry sorbet, chocolatey bits, and a newly enhanced crushed wildberry swirl
- *ENHANCED* Jam n’Lemon – lemon sorbet, lemon zest, and a newly enhanced creamy lemon swirl that packs a curd-like experience
- *ENHANCED* Caf Almond – almond nut butter sorbet, coffee, espresso bark, and a newly enhanced espresso caramel
- Pistachio & Caramel – pistachio nut butter sorbet, caramel, pistachio pieces
- Passionilla – orange passionfruit sorbet, vanilla chips, orange zest
- Cocoa Haze – chocolate hazelnut butter, hazelnut pieces, chocolatey chunks
While traditional sorbets typically deliver a light, one-dimensional flavor profile made only with water and fruit, Sorbabes sorbets are made by spinning together whole food ingredients, like rich fruit or nut butters. This then yields a creamy base sorbet before layers of toppings are folded in to create an indulgent eating experience that tastes and feels much like craft ice cream.
“We know what we like to eat and what our friends and families crave, which is something that tastes great by nature,” Gorman says. “We want to give our consumers something they can feel good about eating and serving to others, a wholesome, healthier dessert that doesn’t sacrifice flavor and still feels indulgent. This rings true with our new Peanut Butta Luva flavor, a creamy peanut butter sorbet mixed with rich caramel and chocolate chunks.”
Sorbabes offers consumers real ingredients and imaginative flavors for a delicious, healthier-choice dessert without the guilt of traditional ice cream. All flavors are dairy-free, gluten-free, corn syrup-free, soy-free, vegan, use non-GMO ingredients and are kosher parve with layers of flavor and texture never before associated with sorbet.
“From our roots in the kitchen and selling at local farmers’ markets where we were nicknamed ‘the Sorbabes’, it’s beyond exciting for us to be at ExpoWest,” Gorman adds. “We know we are in good company with other brands committed to providing consumers with a quality product crafted with wholesome ingredients.”
Sorbabes is available in the frozen dessert aisles at grocers in Portland, Seattle, Chicago, Northern California, and the New York tri-state area. All Sorbabes flavors come in 1-pint packages with a retail price of $4.99-$6.49. The newest Sorbabes flavors and packaging will begin shipping to grocers in March.
