    Urban Accents Showcases Non-GMO Offering at Expo West

    The flavor brand makes its NPEW deput at booth 8901

    ANAHEIM, CA – MARCH 9, 2018 – Urban Accents, Your Culinary Wingman, will be exhibiting at Natural Products Expo West this March, the first time in the company’s history. Since Tom Knibbs and Jim Dygas began the company in their Chicago basement in 1996, the focus of the product offering has been on small batch crafted seasonings and sauces, using high quality and natural ingredients.

    “As a company, we’ve always strived to use the highest quality, natural ingredients in our products,” says Tom Knibbs, President and co-founder and of Urban Accents. “We decided to exhibit at Natural Products Expo West to broaden our reach to this audience of buyers and retailers.”

    To stay in line with natural products industry and consumer priorities, Urban Accents has focused on acquiring Non-GMO Project verification for products. To-date, 21 product skus have achieved Non-GMO Project Verified status and feature the seal on packaging.

    Among those products include 15 bottled spice blends, the signature line of globally-influenced seasonings which feature a new, sleek label design that prominently displays the Non-GMO status. The Urban Accents team will be demoing two of the best-selling spice blends during Expo West.

    The company’s popular line of Non-GMO popcorn kernels, Midwest-farm raised, also feature a packaging refresh, playful, poster art inspired design that puts emphasis on kernel variety. “Updating the packaging gives us an opportunity to appeal to a new Millenial audience—62% of 25-34 year olds say product label and packaging influence their purchase decision,” says co-founder Jim Dygas.

    Other Non-GMO Project Verified products to be featured at Expo West are the Gourmet Gobbler™ Turkey Brine & Rub Kit, Sea Salt & Herb Spiced Turkey Brine, Wine & Cider Mulling Spices, and the line USDA Organic Chili Starter Seasonings. Visitors to the booth can also see the most recent addition to the Urban Accents product line, Global Taco Simmer Sauces, which are naturally flavored and gluten-free.
