Energy Foods International Launches at Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, Calif.

Energy Foods (Expo Booth 7109) sells pure and nutritious fruit powders from the Amazon rainforest to food manufacturers, retailers and consumers

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.—March 7, 2018—Energy Foods International today is launching its global business capabilities at the Natural Products Expo West after four years of market research and growing consumer demand in the South Florida market. The company is also announcing a humanitarian partnership with 100% Amazonia, a social enterprise focused on preserving the Amazon rainforest and protecting the interests of its inhabitants.

Representatives of Energy Foods International are attending the expoto present their first line of products – Bomba Aa, Bomba Acerola Cherry and Bomba Guaran. Expo attendees can visit Energy Foods International at Booth 7109.

“Food manufacturers looking to infuse their products with unique and nutritious ingredients can use our Bomba brands individually or as a comprehensive set for maximum health benefits,” said Alex Mathieson, managing director and co-founder of Energy Foods International. “For their part, retailers can respond to consumer demand by stocking our fruit powders, which are an ideal ingredient in smoothies, yogurts and other healthy beverages, snacks and meals.”

The company’s launch of the three-product Bomba brand follows extensive market research based on face-to-face conversations with consumers. Mathieson and his team have personally conducted 100 Bomba Aa tasting events reaching 10,000 people at gyms, farmers markets, restaurants and high-end retailers since 2014.

In addition, Bomba Aa has been sold nationally and internationally via an e-commerce engine and in-person corporate sales since 2014.

Unprecedented Knowledge of the Amazon-to-U.S. Supply Chain

Food manufacturers and retailers can rely on Energy Foods’ Brazilian-American team for their personal knowledge of the Amazon rainforest and Brazilian business practices, unmatched by any other company in the business.

Energy Foods CEO Larcio Gonalves and Business Development Director Antonio Rhossard grew up in the rainforest in the northern state of Par. Rhossard splits his time between Belm, a city on the forest’s edge, and Fort Lauderdale. Mathieson and Co-Founder William Barshop each worked for 25 years in security industry sales throughout Latin America, and speak Portuguese fluently.

“Not only did Larcio and I grow up drinking acai but we also picked the fruits ourselves as kids,” Rhossard said. “We can personally guarantee the purity of our products, from the iconic Ver-o-Peso market in Belm – where families sell their fruits, vegetables and fish – to the freeze-drying process, packaging, and export.”

    Sustainable Business

In ahyper-aware and socially conscious world, food manufacturers and retailers interested in building sustainable and ethical brands have yet another reason for doing business with Energy Foods International.

The company is donating a portion of its revenues to help fund a charitable endeavor, Aryiamuru, meaning “the power that comes from the mother of the mother” in the South American Indian language Tupi-Guarani. Organized by Belm-based social enterprise 100% Amazonia, Aryiamuru connects rainforest inhabitants with biologists, engineers and other technical experts who work together to analyze the soil, identify flora and fauna, and determine which plants to harvest, and when. Villagers also learn how to organize themselves around production schedules, thus creating an efficient and strong infrastructure reflecting cultural norms.
