MAXINE’S HEAVENLY ENTERS WHOLE FOODS MARKET

Healthy cookie eyes expansion starting with Holy Grail of natural food stores.

Los Angeles, CA: Maxine’s Heavenly, a Los Angeles-based company that makes delicious cookies from simple, nutrient-dense ingredients, is now available in select Whole Foods markets in the Southern Pacific region.

The attributes of Maxine’s Heavenly cookies offer an extremely unique combination of current trends in the packaged food industry:

    • Certified gluten free and vegan
    • Verified non-GMO
    • Soy and preservative free
    • Low sugar (less sugar and more nutrition that most cereals and bars)
    • Sweetened with coconut sugar for a lower glycemic index
    • Made with healthy ingredients like whole grain oats and flaxseed
    • Soft-baked / homemade taste

“We’re very excited about getting in to Whole Foods and for our growth in general,” said CEO & Co-Founder Robert Petrarca. “We created this company because we believe dessert can be good for you. We wanted the same texture and flavor of the cookies Maxine (Founder Tim Miller’s mother) made in the 1950’s, but wanted to update them based on what we know about health and nutrition now. We’ve been growing rapidly in the last few years, and getting into Whole Foods is a good sign that more and more people are looking for treats that taste good, but also match their values and diet.”

Whole Foods carries three Maxine’s Heavenly flavors: Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk, Almond Chocolate Chunk, and Chocolate Chocolate Chunk. While the list grows each day, you can currently find their cookies in the following Whole Foods Markets: 3rd and Fairfax, Arroyo, Beverly Hills, Brentwood, El Segundo, Glendale, La Jolla, Huntington Beach, Pasadena, Playa Vista, Santa Monica, Tarzana, Valencia, Venice, West Los Angeles, West Hollywood, and Westwood.

About Maxine’s Heavenly: Since 2013, Maxine’s Heavenly has been making delicious cookies from the purest ingredients. We believe food (including dessert) can & should be both nutrient-dense fuel for your body AND delicious. Learn more at maxinesheavenly.com.
