Whole Note Food Company, maker of a line of award-winning, 7-whole-grain, certified gluten-free baking mixes, is proud to announce that they will be showcasing their Non-Dairy Pancakes and vegan Pumpkin Muffins at Expo West. The pumpkin muffins will be made with an egg substitute, to give their vegan customers a chance to see how they can tailor our mixes to suit their needs.

Since their founding, Whole Note has been delighting people who eat gluten-free with delicious products they thought they might never get to enjoy again. With more and more people now choosing to reduce the amount of dairy in their diets, or having to cut it out entirely, Whole Note wanted to highlight some of the ways they also serve those with this need.

Whole Note also strives to provide tasty, high-quality alternatives for those who choose a vegan diet, perhaps none more popular than their delicious pumpkin bread! The pumpkin bread—along with most of their mixes—is easy to make vegan using an egg substitute. At Expo West, Whole Note will be sampling muffins made with applesauce, but you can use whatever you prefer!

In addition to the non-dairy and vegan options, Whole Note will be serving their Lemon Ginger Muffins and Cappuccino & Dark Chocolate Muffins, as well as cranberry orange muffins made using their Create-A-Muffin mix. Be sure to stop by for their Crepes as well, which they will be demonstrating how to cook, and serving in both sweet and savory varieties.

Everything Whole Note makes is certified gluten-free and made with a signature blend of seven whole grains, for just the right balance of delicious taste and wholesome nutrition. Visit them at Booth N823 in the Hot Products Pavilion and try some for yourself!

    About Whole Note

“Whole Note”? Music preceded cooking for Paul and Bonnie Morris, the husband and wife team behind Whole Note Food Company. Both music lovers, they first got to know each other as singers and guitar players in a church musical group.

After Paul was diagnosed with celiac disease several years ago, he set about trying to recreate, gluten-free, the tastes and textures of baked goods that were now off limits. He wanted foods that were: at least as tasty as the “real thing”; nutritious, made
with whole-grain flours; and easy to prepare. It took years, but he kept at it, combining his scientific background with a creative passion for good food. He has always insisted that the flavor has to really “sing” before a recipe is considered finished. When even the pickiest eaters in the family started preferring his recipes to their traditional, wheat-based counterparts, Paul knew he was really on to something.

They shared their mixes with others who needed gluten-free food, including the families of autistic children at a school where Bonnie was working. Everyone loved the mixes and wanted more, with many asking if it could somehow be available for purchase. So, Whole Note Food Company was started to meet these needs—with foods that delight—and has grown rapidly ever since. What they had not anticipated is just how popular the products would also be with non-gluten-free people, just because of the delicious flavors and whole-grain nutrition!

Whole Note products are available in select grocery stores in the southwest, northeast and midwest US, and are sold online from several sources including Amazon (Prime). The company does most of its own manufacturing, but uses a co-packer for very large orders.
